What do I do????

Postby Cockatielsongs » Mon Apr 08, 2013 2:14 am

Hey everyone!
I posted a question the other day about my :galah: not wanting to train on his T stand. So began using positive reinforcement and rewarding him whilst his in the stand but so far no progress, well not really, he doesn't try to get off but instead he makes this, not really sure how to describe it but its like a 'groaning'? sort of noise, its hard to describe... but yeah he makes that noise and holds his wings out a tiny bit and sways staring at me. Otherwise he's totally fine, only does that when I try train him on a stand. He won't perform any tricks on the stand and gets really angry even if I try give him his favorite ball he just throws it away. It's ALWAYS like this no matter how many treats I give him for being on the stand he won't do anything except make that noise, have his wings slightly out and sway. It the noise he makes the really gets to me...

I've tried him on different stands even on the back of a chair... same thing...

should I just train him on the floor usual? I don't have a problem with being on the floor only that it makes the whole grabbing thing a million times harder...

When your bird is comfortable with you grabbing and lifting them, you see Michael doing it to Kili in some of his videos. Basically getting the bird used to you lifting it up :)
