The awkward moment..

... my conure has recently started masturbating a lot. It could be that he now feels more comfortable since he's been here a few weeks. The first time was yesterday, where he started doing that on me and then started to aggressively bite my face, so I moved him onto the perch.
Today he has been masturbating on his perch a lot. Then he flew to me and seemed aggressive so I nudged him with my foot so he'd fly back to his perch where he started going at it.

Should I just let him go about this? Should I discourage it? And if so how could I discourage it? He can be a bit mean when he's in the mood. I generally just let him go about his business and try to look away since I feel like i'm invading on a private moment.

my penny does the same thing especially when mya first came to live with us. now we're getting another female so i'm sure he'll be at it again. i don't let him do it on me but he did it everywhere my female would sit he calmed down eventually. now there are days when he does it and days he doesn't.
