Focusing the bird on me?

Postby Kitei » Mon Jul 01, 2013 7:05 pm

My younger parrotlet is a real charmer; he picked up step up very quickly, and loves to come out of his cage to do some training. However, I've started experiencing an issue with him and my light shade - he loves it. He'll come out for me, maybe do another couple of step ups, but then he'll fly right up there and wont come down, and will just be walking around the lamp, chewing on it, etc. I'm sure he's getting distracted because it's shiny - it's metal and glass circles, so is reflective and attention-drawing, but I'm not happy with him being up there so close to the light bulb.

How can I get his attention back on me, and not the lamp?
