The biting phase

Hi everyone. Sunny's going through his biting phase and it wasn't too bad until this morning. I woke up and he was screaming for attention so I waited until he was quiet for a bit, and went to open his door. When my fingers came close, he half stepped up onto them and he bit them, but not too hard. I decided to use this as a short lesson not to bite, and I left the room for a few seconds. I came back and I offered my hand and he bit even harder, not bothering to step up at all! It was as if me leaving the room was his plan all along and he'd finally found out how to get me to do it. Since then, he will not stop lunging at me, and refuses to step up despite the fact that he was acting normal yesterday save for a bit of biting. What do I do in this situation?

I don't know at what time you got up but, if it wasn't early, that's the reason why he is biting you. In my personal experience, GCCs only bite if they are not given adequate attention (and that means getting up early in the am to let them out and feed them because they are one of the species that likes to eat as soon as they wake up).

It seems that no matter how early I get up(6, 7, or 8AM), he is still bitey throughout the day. It seems to get better and worse each day. Perhaps I'll just have to wait through it and hope he lessens the biting?
