Sure , Get the bird next to you and watch TV, or play computer games, or study and talk to the bird softly. The idea is to allow the bird to gain enough trust in you to climb onto you, preferably your hand. So what ever you do it can't have you moving very much, otherwise do whatever you choose.

Lovie is back in cage after 1 and half hour of outdoor training... I have some questions...

He was instantly flighting on my hairs... so my brother catched him with one hand on wings and one under legs and then we tried these multiple times and in hands he wasnt biting... i tried him to step up but he was looking on me like "What the hell he wants from me?" :D ... he pooped on my brother twice and once on me :DD i gave him to the cage so that he flight on my arm and i gave him on the outside of the cage and then tried to target him inside and he went... then gave him to the living room and tried to give him finger but in cage he is still trying to bite me :( (he is opening his beak...)

Also we were peting him (caress with finger) :O

So what about this ?
And is this catching him bad ?
Will he be so nice and tamed again or he was only scaried or so ? :/

Thanks in advance :)

Well done ! I think the bird could have done without catching him like this, It scared him! of course he is opening his beak when you ask him to step up on your finger. When you use your hand to help you climb, you don't do it with your hand closed do you? I know that I don't, and you must accept that the bird uses his beak as a hand too.

This little bird got scared when you worked with him this time ,but he chose to extend his trust to you anyway. You need to get it together a bit and trust him too. He knows that as long as you go slow, to give him a chance to understand what you want, and don't scare him too much that there is no benefit for him to bite you.

Next time you do this, start by going to his cage talking to him softly asking him if he would like to come out and play, open the door, ask him to step up and let him do it. When this is accomplished give him a treat. Be aware that he is going to reach out with his beak and it will be open, as long as he is not opening and closing it like chomp, chomp, chomp, you trust him. Remember he uses it just like a hand.

Let me know how it goes.

I understand that you think that he will bite and I understand that you are afraid of that. I don't understand the fear but, I know it is there and the reason doesn't really matter. No!! You should not catch him that way because you will cause him to bite. You ask him to step up. That brings us right back to the beginning, you are afraid that he might bite. Well that is where the trust comes in.

Consider that some giant that is 200 feet tall and doesn't speak any language that you understand is trying to get you to step up on to their hand. You are small and you know that if you do this you are stepping to your death because all this giant has to do is close its hand and squeeze and you die a horrible death. That is what your bird is facing and yet it extends its trust to you.

now tell me how much damage do you think that you can do to this giant if you bit it. Not much, I think. Well you are the giant and if this little bird can trust you that much, you can trust it just a little bit don't you think? Put your hand down for the bird, ask it to step up close your eyes and wait for it to do so.

My hair is shoulder length, so that is not really an issue.

Treats only work as an incentive if the bird is hungry. Ideally training is done in morning before bird eats or late afternoon before bird eats and when it has been at least 2 hours since it last ate , this is so bird is hungry.
What are you using for treat while training?

Either calmly reach up and ask him to step up or walk about with a bird hairpiece until you can get someone to ask him to step up or until you decide to do it yourself. I will norpromise that he won't poop on your head while you wait for help.

I use millet. Yeah, only reason why i wanna get him down is pooping :D His favourite places are shoulders and hair... Also he was testing with beak my ear :D and firstly i was really scared of him when he was coming to my face :D (yea maybe it is funny that i am scared from this little bird) but he is in cage still offensive i think :/
