I realize that motivation in training is affected by different factors and I have made all attempts to limit any extranious variables i.e. training times, food management, treats used etc. BUT sometimes Oscar has amazing training sessions (highly motivated/doesnt miss a beat) and other times he is motivated but needs a bit more coaxing and response times are not always where they should be.
I realize birds are like humans in that we all have our moods and might not want to be as active as other times. I am wondering how do you bring back motivation on a night where motivation might be lacking? I have had sessions where motivation is lacking so stop for a period....then say 30 minutes later start training and response is much better.
What do you do? Stop training all together on those off nights? Offer higher reward treats? Take a break and re-start later? Other ideas??
Thanks,
Wayne
