my native language is german, so have some mercy with me if i cant express myself good enough
Around May/June we bought 2 senegal Parrots. Both are NOT hand-breeded and we got them after they learned to eat without the support of their parents.
They are from different breeding mothers and also male and female.
After we put them in their cages we let them accustom themselfes to their new "homes"
I talked with them after they started tolarating me and feeded them with my hand pretty fast and also started with the clicker training.
After about 1-2 Month they learned to step up, fly towards my finger if I call them and are not afraid of flying on our heads and playing with our hair or anything like that.
Now to my problem:
After they fly on my finger and sit their, they do one of two things.
1. They start to bite my finger or my hand (not too hard but still hard enough to make a punctual wound)
2. They climb up to my shoulder and play with my hair / or bite my ear
I dont know what to do. Ignoring them is to painful and they also dont "dislike" me or my sister in comparison to our parent which they are not as fond of.
What should we do? My mother said we should seperate them for a few weeks (send 1 to my aunt) and train them this way.
I personally dislike the idea. I couldnt imagine myself living alone even if it is for a week without the contact to my friends and family and dont want my birds to do just that.
I hope this isnt too much to read.
And thank you all in advance
