I would treat him like an adopted orphan with no given history. I would not push myself on him or go out of my way to bring attention to him. When changing his cage or adding food I would keep my palm down.
One thing I have learned is that they are more afraid of hands than faces.
If his wings are clipped let them grow out.
Put him where he can watch you or other activities to keep from getting bored. It will also make you more familiar to him without pushing him.
