There should not be any real problem if she flies over to the large cage as long as the door is closed so that she can't get in with the other bird. You can continue working on her step up training from the top or sides of that cage until she does it when you want her to on a consistent basis. Also start placing her on different places in the same room and having her step up from there.
Start working on target training with her in the small cage. Try to get in 2 sessions of 10 to 15 min. each per day. It would be a good idea to either make or acquire a training perch or two for when you start target training outside of the cages.

Just saw where Tina stepped up on your finger. Was this inside the cage or outside? Great job either way!!

It was outside of the cage while she had an indoor flight she landed somewhere that she couldn't see the cage so she had no choise then to step up :)

That is cool, sometimes we receive these little gifts that we can take advantage of, such as this one, we would be silly not to use them.

Good morning!
I have the same question in or out of cage. Either way is really great, but right now ,I am really looking for her to start stepping up while in the cage. The reason for this is that when she will step up consistently while in the cage and let you bring her out that way, we can let her remain in the large cage like she is accustomed to.
Just a thought for future training. A TV tray/ table works great for a training table especially when covered with a thin unfinished piece of plywood, so it is not too slick for her to walk on. I bring this up because you should be getting ready to start target training, and for possible trick training in the near future.
You are making progress pretty quickly. Good for you!
