Well it appears that you got the cart ahead of the cart on this one. But that doesn't mean that all is lost. This would have worked better if you had taken the hen with you to the pet store and let her help with choosing her new mate. What you did was basically the same as if your parents brought you home a brand new boy that you have never seen before and said this is your new husband, have at it.
Budgies are usually pretty easy to work with in this type of situation so you have the option of waiting this out, as they will likely get along after a while. Or you could begin all over from the start and try again only taking her with you.
Assuming that you have separate cages, you can place the cages near each other and wait for them to get over their fear, at which time you can begin to introduce them to each other. There is a very good chance that after the male gets used to his new environment and the female gets accustomed to the new male that they will get along just fine.
