Not a problem, you have to sleep sometime.
OK! We need the netting to stop ,it plays a big role in your birds' flightiness. You apparently have a very brave little bird, who is trying desperately to trust you, but the toweling he gets at the vets and the netting of him is getting in the way of him being able to do so. There are a few thing that you can do to change this, and win his trust. The first thing as I have already said is to stop netting him. You could try to put him in his travel cage while he is eating out of your hand. I don't hold much confidence in this, but for the bird it is worth trying. You could start feeding him one meal per day in his travel cage, preferably the one closest to the time to go to the vets, and leave him in until you return from the vets. This may be enough to solve your problem, due to the fact that he is trying to trust you already and will come to you and get on your hand. Also every time you get him to get on your hand tell him "Step Up". This provides for a consistent way for you to tell him that you want him to get on your hand, he will learn this pretty quickly, I think.
Let's begin with this, so that we can establish a gentle way to get him to go into his travel cage and avoid the netting. Then we can continue with training to establish trust in you based upon his actions. What do you think of this course of action?

Hi !
Apparently I missed your last post, probably while writing my last one to you. But, no matter. No you have not wasted my time at all, in fact, the research is more for my benefit than yours as it serves to teach me new things or to refresh old things and that helps me to be better able to help. Its a me thing. So no waste of my time.
There must be, what?, a 6 hour time difference between us. I am all the way over at the north western corner of North Carolina, USA.
I know that you are stressed out pretty severely, it shows in the tone of your writing, but you can get through this. So far as I can tell you are doing a remarkable job of trying to help your bird. I can't look back far enough, while I am writing this, and I don't recall it being mentioned, but what is your birds name ?
If you need someone to talk to, off the record, please feel free to PM me. I will always answer as quickly as I can.

Oh I almost forgot... What is a clicker and how to use it, I heard that you use it to help your bird to stop being afraid of new things... could you explain?

A clicker is a small hand held device with a button that you push and it makes a click type sound, sometimes they are kind of round or sometimes shaped like a small box. They are often available at a pet store, dog trainers often use them too. They work by you pressing the button when your bird does something that you want it to do. Take Step Up for example; bird is asked to step up, bird steps up, you click and give bird treat.
I read the article that cml placed the link for in his post. It is pretty much what I was going to have you do and pretty much the same method so you should consider using it.
Apparently, I have offended you. I did not mean to, I was trying to understand what the problems were that you had to deal with, in your relationship with Gandolf. I could tell that you loved him and wanted the best for him and that was what I was/am trying to give you and him as well.

You can always use words of praise instead of the clicker.
