whats my first step for training my african grey parrot?

Hello every one,.hoep you could help me in my problem,i just bought last 2 days a grey parrot. dont know about its age and gender. i think hes very traumatic about the way on how the pet shop owner treat him. i saw the person letting this parrot outside its cage and handling it very forcefully and place it in his arms just to encourage buyers. that why i decided to bought this beautiful parrot. now my problem is i dont know what program i can use to start taming him/her. i tried to offer food from the cage bAR but it seems hes not interested.when i try to place my hand inside his cage he goes to the side of hes cage and making a loud noise. he does not want to be touch.. i also tried to let him go outside his cage and i used a branch for temporary perch but hes keeps on flying and biting me (although its tolerable)..my question ism,...
1)what is the best practice to start taming him?
2) Do i need to wait for him to take his food in my hand inside the cage?
3.) or should i continue allowing him to go outside and use a perch and try to encourage him to do the step up? i tried this but he keeps on flying,or is there any program that i can use?
pls correct me. I know i did a lot of mistakes this past few days. thank u.

Congratulations on the new Grey Parrot, I really love mine. I am glad that you got him out of such a lousy place and are giving him a home. I f you can post some pictures of him we may be able to give you some idea as to whether it is male or female.
You have just got the bird and brought it home and although it was in a lousy place your home is both new and strange to this bird and so right now the bird is a bit scared of this new place and you its new human. Right now the bird needs a couple of days wherein you just feed and water it and spend some time in the room with it.
You are going to have plenty to do for now without getting concerned about training. This is actually a good thing as it will allow you to learn about your new best friend and time for it to learn about you as well. Parrots do not just give you their trust like a dog or a cat would, so you are going to have to earn it. So to begin with you are going to need to set aside some time for you and your bird to get acquainted with each other. About 15 minutes, 3 to 4 times a day should be adequate for this. While you are doing this you could also begin to work on making sure that your bird is getting a healthy diet, So please let us know what you are feeding this bird and when it is being fed the food and we will help you on this as well.
OK you are ready to begin taming and socializing your bird. Start by observing the bird from across the room and pay attention to how it stands and how its feathers are arranged. Slowly begin to approach the bird in its cage, noting any reaction to your approach and if the bird backs away from you or in any way appears to get nervous then stop and do not go any closer to the bird for the remainder of this session. Now talk to the bird, about anything that comes to mind, but be sure to include words of praise like good bird or similar things. The main objective is to calm the bird and to reassure it that nothing bad is going to occur to it and you also want it to get used to your voice and your presence. In a few day of this you will find that you are right at the cage so you need to have about 3 or4 treats to offer the bird through the bars of the cage while you continue your talks. When the bird takes the treats from your fingers through the bars in a calm and gentle manner several times in a row then you move on to talking and offering the treats with the door open. when the bird takes these treats gently and calmly directly from your fingers then you hold the treat so that the bird must step up onto your hand to get the treat. Once all of this happens then you will be ready to begin to start training the bird.
This phase should not last too long and when the bird is stepping up for you then it will need to have at least 1 hour a day of one on one time for training or just for the bird to be on you, training sessions should never last more than 15 minutes at a time. I t will also need at least 4 hours of free time out of the cage to explore its new home, to fly about for exercise and just to hang out with you, which since it is a Grey will be its favorite thing to do.
