It's been 2 weeks since I rescued a budgie (no leg tag) in my moms backyard from a stray. It's a girl and 6+ months old i'm guessing because she has white rings around her eyes and a clear cap. I took her to the vet and she is very healthy, no piercings from the cat but her wing was a little sore and might be sprained. Calling her Tui.
I have waited to see if anyone replied to the adds I put up and they have not so I'm going to keep it until it's tame and then find a good home. =D
She is very scared and every time I put my hand in the cage to change food/ water she fly's away and bangs into the cage sides. I have taken her out a couple of times, once to clip her wings and the other times for her to be around us. She will sit there but when anyone sits up or goes near her stand she fly's on the floor.
I have read through some of the topics about taming, but she does not sit still enough for me to approach her with my hand, even holding millet. Any tips on how to get her used to my hand?
