If you are allowing the bird to have free access to pellets all day, I think that you will find that it will stop eating the fruit and vegetables, in favor of the pellets. Let me know.

I'm sorry but I do not agree with this. It would be wonderful if it was so but it's not. Human homes are dangerous places for little birds and even for big birds because no matter who careful we might birdproof them, there will always be something we missed. A birdroom with no people anything (furniture, appliances, etc) is fine but not a human home with all the normal accoutrements (if nothing else, think metal poisoning) .
