my experience with mine is
if i have to go out for any reason and my gcc is only out for 4 hours max then i have issues, on these days i allow him to be out with minimal hands on tasks, but still being around him as much as possible
the days when he is out pretty much all day apart from the odd 30 minutes or so, i have no issues, i find when they get out they can get pretty temperamental if kept in the cage for too long,
my best advice is listen to everything these 2 say, they helped me all the way!
iv found the fastest results iv had is allowing the bird to perch on the chair i sit on so when im doing work on the pc, watching tv, eating ect he is there next to me, mine is parent raised and i found doing this he is having progress faster than i could expect, bonding well because he's next to me pretty much all the time,
i have a video on here that il link later showing the signs of what mine does if he wants out of the cage or if he wants more attention, worth checking out when i link it as if yours does what mine did in the video then your gcc needs more from you
