Getting a parrot to be more comfortable with you

Postby Morar Calin » Thu Sep 17, 2015 12:25 pm

I have a Green-Cheek Conure for about a week now.He is not afraid of people.I can get my hand at about 1 inch of him and that's gettingsmaller as the days pass.I talk with him,I keep my hand in his cage/on his cage ,and try to hand feed him, but he won't do that. And i forgot to mention that he doesn't scream or fly around his cage. Can somebody tell me a way so i can touch him? Thanks in advance!

You have not earned the privilege to touch him. Keep your hands away.
Move things around so that he can perch at face level. They are not afraid of faces and you will be able to have nose to beak talks.
Spend a lot of time in the room not paying attention to him. Let him look you over and get used to you. Sing, read a book out loud and stuff to get him to pay attention to you without consentrating on him.
