Please just call me Wolf, it is who I am.
I can see that you are trying to be good to him, but you really need to make a few changes in his lifestyle for his well being. The first being that if you are going to win this birds trust then you are going to have to spend a lot more time with him. Perhaps you could do your studies for school in the same room as he is in. Grey's bond very deeply to their humans and expect them to spend a lot of time with them, this does not mean that Zazu require you to have him on you most of the time or to pet him a lot, but just to be there with him and to talk to him. Grey's are often very independent in this respect and many times my Grey is happy to hang out next to me, or on the back of the sofa or even on a floor lamp that is next to the sofa that she climbs and uses as a perch. Other times she wanders about on the floor looking for things to do that only a bird would find interesting to do. She loves to have her head scratched, but only when she asks for it as they are not touchy feely birds, she sometimes wants to wrestle with my hand and she likes to throw a ball at me and she talks to me a lot. She thinks that I am hers and wants me to spend all of my time with her. By the way I never take her out of her cage, I just open the door and she comes out by herself. I do put her back in her cage so that she will eat and drink rather than just hanging with me, but she is free to come back out.
I think that you need to look at his diet more closely as it appear to me that Zazu is getting too much protein in his diet as you are giving him seeds all day long, which is not good for a parrot and can cause them to be more aggressive and bite due to increased production of hormones especially if he is not kept to a solar light schedule just like the free birds outside your window have. I cook for my birds and feed them a food made of partly cooked whole grains, partly cooked vegetables and fully cooked white beans and lentils. They have this food all day long as well as a fresh raw vegetable, a fresh raw fruit and a fresh raw leafy green. They all receive a mix of seeds and tree nuts for their dinner which I remove from their cage when they go to sleep at night.
You have not had him very long and based on what you have said, I hope that you have not lost the chance for him to bond with you as they are such special birds, in my opinion, but you will need to spend a lot more time with him, get rid of the glove, learn to listen to him and spend more time with him than anyone else, especially your mother as it appears that he may be starting to choose her over you as his special human.
I hope this will help you and Zazu.

You also have to give him supplements because his diet, as it is now, it's quite deficient in vitamins and mineral and provides no source whatsoever of Vit d3 without which calcium cannot be absorbed.

I would also recommend you stop using gloves because I don't know of a single bird that likes them (they are afraid of them and make him distrust you). If you are afraid of bites, simply don't put your hands anywhere where he can bite them until he trusts you enough to allow you to handle him.

Any avian multivitamin/mineral supplement would do. I use two kinds, one that dissolves in water for the passerines and one that is sprinkled on the soft food for the parrots but, when I get a brand new bird that is not used to eating soft food, I use the one that goes in the water until he does.
