Parrots favourite treat?

Postby Chantilly » Thu Mar 17, 2016 4:55 am

What is your parrots favourite treat?
Tilly's is a rice bubble. I dont know if you have had rice bubbles but they are a popped rice breakfast cerial...(with a teeny tiny bit of sugar and salt and bad stuff.)
Tilly hardy ever gets these but when she sees them she will literally do anything at all for it, they honestly couldnt be that delicios to her... mabye it is just because she sees me eat them each morning? Followed by that fir Tilly is me constantly telling her how good she is... Praises :D
Shreks is scratches and a play wrestle.

I love Hunan Chicken but do not like the broccoli in it because it is not cooked well enough and I really don't care for the taste anyway. Rambo can smell Hunan Chicken when I first bring it in the door and starts begging by flapping his wings and saying "huh ?" which is his begging noise. I have to hurry and rinse some of the sauce off and give it to him. He likes plain broccoli but the Hunan sauce must be the clincher.
Rambo was not fed properly before I got him. He was given salty high fat snacks as well and candy. I restrict myself to keep them from seeing and wanting the snacks. Rambo can smell Cheetos and will follow his nose to find them. I have to give him a small one and Myrtle picks up on it and wants hers only because he has one.
I have not found a favorite for Myrtle because she is such a happy eater that all foods are treated the same. I have found that she does not like cashews though Rambo does. Myrtle loves Brazil nuts but Rambo does not.
Rambo will go for the nut in his meal first then eat the rest. Myrtle goes for the soft grain first and enjoys food in general so sometimes does not bother with the nut. When Rambo sees the untouched nut on her plate he will walk over and steal it and even right in front of her.
The only thing they both get excited about is fruit such as apple and orange.

Myrtle plucks the corn off to get to the cob to eat it. I can't give them corn on the cob.

My birds all have personal favorites but I think that, if I had to name one thing that they all love is birdy bread - they LOVE it!

I have tried other nuts to give them variety. I found that Myrtle would not eat a cashew but Rambo loves them. Myrtle likes Brazil nuts and Rambo treats them like they are alien.

How did I get exact opposite birds? They are as opposite as my kids.
