I just bought a Senengal parrot from the bird market yesterday, he's a cute small baby boy. He steps up, steps down and will go on your shoudler, but he does not like to be petted or touched. Unlike my Cnoure and my parrotlet they love to be petted. I'm wondering why he doesnt wanted to be petted, also im starting to think he doesnt like me. So on, I am wondering why he does not like to be petted, and does he like me ?
( He was plucked by his parrents, so he's missing some feathers, i dont know if that has to do with it)

You only got him yesterday, give him some time to adjust
My Senegal gets spooked when you try to pet her straight away. So I 'offer' her my fingers first, which she nibbles on. Then I can rub her beak, which she loves! And while rubbing her beak I can gently move up to rub her head and neck.

It also depends on how much human interaction the bird has had... If it is not used to humans then no wonder

Keep at it and as Kim said it will take time to gain trust...

You could also start trying clicker/target training to help speed up the trust building.
