I've been looking at this, in regards to biting issues with a YNA. Has anyone used this? It says download videos free, and I always distrust anything that claims to be free...

Access to this forum to ask questions and access to articles about training on this forum are both free. Youtube videos about training are also free. You have quite a few people on this forum who have experienced and overcome biting issues.. so feel free to ask questions and they can offer you advice.

These articles would probably be very useful for you. They are long (I understand) but I think if you go through them and implement some of the techniques, you could develop a better relationship with the amazon that you have been posting about.

PS--For the one person bird article, just think of it as that your amazon has bonded with someone else (since it probably did) and follow some of the steps that I laid out in it.

I personally have read so many stories about BirdTricks.com suggesting they are frauds that I just wouldn't spend money on their videos. As Kathleen said, there are lots of useful and helpful articles on these forums and they are free!

I ordered the basic taming and training DVD from birdtricks.com - and it's not bad. It came with 2 additional audio CDs plus access to several online audio interviews, and a couple of pdf ebooks.

The advice and training regime they give seems to be fairly standard, and generally good - and the quality of the materials themselves is pretty average (although you have to wade through an almost constant barrage of 'we're really fantastic, and you should buy our other amazing DVDs too!' peppered throughout).

None of their techniques are particularly revolutionary though, and most of the information is freely available via these kind of forums or YouTube: it's mostly based on target and clicker training, andusing 'tricks' as a way to encourage an exciting, interactive and intellectually stimulating relationship with your parrot.

I've seen the "Taming and Training" videos and personally I think it's material you can find here and elsewhere in the Internet with a proper search. The other video series on the site I haven't seen yet.

I like a lot of their stuff, but the people above are quite right. theres a lot of information you can get without paying its just the effort that you pay with, instead of money. If you want a fast and easy access solution then buying a product is the way to go.

I find the parrot blog they do on the website helpful, and their newsletters are an interesting read too. I've learnt quite a lot from looking at their stuff, including the videos, so it's worth looking around what they have to offer but as always never take anything as set in stone. There's always something which doesn't apply to the personality of your parrot which will to others.

Just keep reading around and I'm sure you will find answers to your issue. this way you can also find a variety of techniques and find the one which works for you.
