i did think he may associate biting with goin back on his stand hence why i put him in the cage, but as you've said it could imply the same. its so hard to determine whats inforcing and whats not! i leave his cage door open so he can go in and out as he pleases. hes started cilmbing off the stand onto the floor now, i found him in the hallway yesterday as if he was following me.

hes very tempermental at the moment, for instance he let my mum pick him up from the floor and give him a good tickle when she put him on the cage top, but 5mins later he bit her. he seems to hate my other half too which i want to change, ideally i dont want a one-person-bird.

If you react with emoations he will contuine to bite. just give a "no" like you mean it. and also I lady that owns birds for 40 years said if he bites wile on your arm just move your hand down wile saying no it knocks the of balance> not sure what she ment but seems to work.

Dis-balancing a bird that you do not already have a good relationship with will most likely create more fear and aggression. I think dis-balancing a bird that is clipped is also dangerous.

It may also make them bite for the sake of holding on as well. I'll shake a flighted parrot off that's being bad but think it's a terrible thing to do on a clipped bird.

First thing you need to do is make all your birds experiences with you positive and more importantly if you have any setbacks alway end your interaction with your bird on a positive. By now you should know when your bird is about to bite, so when it tries to bite, just distract it with a toy, scratch or a treat etc.

Good luck
