Postby izmail1215 » Sun Sep 12, 2010 9:47 am

So far I orederd a stop biting kit from birdtricks.com the target traning is going great every thing is going good. But the stepping up part is what I am stuck on! I tried to use a pearch to hold him he bites is wile growling. I put my hand under his belly by his feet he was getting ready to bite.

He is a yellow naped amazon 4 motnhs old. He likes me has no proublm. He trust me but has no idea what I am gonna do. I pet him on his head he puffs his feathers so he dose like me.

only place i can pet him is on this head no back wings or feet. any help would be great!

I just want him to step on on my hand and let him let me touch him every where.

Get step up done first. Don't worry about petting a parrot you cannot even handle. Depending on how good the place is you got the bird from, odds are it knows how to step up already and it's just a matter of you asking the bird to do it properly. If the bird honestly doesn't know step up, the link I posted above is the way to teach it. If the bird was raised by a good breeder or store that taught it to step up, read this about how to handle yourself in a way that is more likely to get the bird to step up:
