Nibbling/biting problem?

Postby Parakeet » Sat Dec 11, 2010 8:14 pm

Recently, my almost year old budgies (2) started to bite/nibble all over my hand when i put it in. I was just wondering what exactly they were doing and why :\

Are they biting or nibbling, biting they're trying to run you off, nibbling they're loving(preening) on you!

They seem to be nibbling in a way similar to when they're eating millet spray

My budgies do this too.

I don't think they're biting you, because if they were, you would know. Budgies may be tiny, but when they get a hold of your cuticle, it hurts.

I think it's just their little way of feeling around. I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

It sounds like they are preening you and being affectionate :)

My son thought his budgie hated him for a while because he was sure that Charlie was spitting at him... i had to reassure him that in fact Charlie loved him and was regurgitating/feeding him..and he should feel very priviliged! He's still not too sure and thinks its "gross"
