Yes and no. The birds wil learn from eachother thus speeding up some of the training. On the other hand, the bond between the birds will always be greater than the bond they have with you. You will really have to be creative to keep their attention. I dont believe seperating the two birds is a good tactic untill both of them are quite happy sitting on your hand and interacting with you.
You can actually use the bond the birds have. If one of the two is a bit more adventurous he will come to you sooner and eat out of your hand. When the second birds can see that nothing bad is going to happen and bird no. one is munching happily on some millet, he will join in the party pretty soon.
