Hi guys,

It's been a few weeks, so I thought I'd post an update. For the first 5-8 days, I had to re-glue at least one string every night before going to bed. But eventually, Clover lost interest in the strings.

Having good new shredding and chewing toys on the stand helped a lot. One thing that especially worked great was that the top of the stand lifts off the bottom. I lifted it and put 3 toilet paper tubes on the "legs" of the top portion. She is now spending much of her chewing time chewing those up, and I can easily replace them each night.

She hasn't chewed any strings at all in the past week, even in the four days my husband took care of her while I was out of town. (Though he left her on it unsupervised once and she flew to my keyboard and ate the letter "P"). So far so good...

I think the letter "P" is really overused anyway!

I'd rather have my birds eat a playstand, rather than eat my keyboard. My left key button is officially lost, and half of my keys are loose...

What we put up with for our birds

Is the problem eating the twine or destroying the playstand? I know how to macrame and was thinking about making some toys for my Senegal, is the hemp ok for them?

The problem is eating the computer.

Well yea I saw that, but the original post was about her bird tearing the twine off the playstand, so I didnt know if it was bc he was destroying the stand she built or if it was bc the twine was bad for the bird to digest or something.
