I am a new bird owner and I own several clickers. The first week of owning Kiwi, my daughter's GCC, I taught him to step up, shake, dance, and give kisses using the clicker. I was more patient with my new baby IRN P.J. I have had him less than 4 weeks now, but he is trained to step up, and does great with target training already. We are just starting on shake, but I may change that to wave.

I have to take training a little slow with P.J. because I think he may be going through a small bluffing phase (something IRNs are known for), and right now he wants to nibble my finger when I try to get him to raise his foot. Keeping his trust during this critical period is more important to me right now than trick training. :)

I'm currently conditioning kiwi to hear the clicker before he gets a treat. I also make sure that my mom and my boyfriend use the clicker whenever they want to give him treats too.

Well I was going to buy one but then I saw the clicker contest and I wanted a parrot wizard clicker, so I entered in case I won. A month later yes! I couldn't believe my eyes when I got the winning email from Michael. He posted it to me and now I have it, I use it for training my cockatiel and it has really helped and strengthened his recall. I highly recommend parrot wizard clickers to anyone who is willing to buy a clicker for training their bird. My cockatiel picked up clicker training immediately and he is being trained everyday using the clicker.

Fantastic, thanks for ordering. Your kit was shipped out yesterday and you should expect it by early next week. I think your parrots will love the toys and I threw in a bonus toy since you ordered so much. Be sure to let us know how training goes!

I'm really happy to say I see what people were talking about before with Windy and biting.

Just a few days into clicker training he's less nippy about where my hands are and what they're doing.
It's so easy to see so many little things that led up to him being more nervous, hindsight is always 20/20.
It's so rewarding to see such big results in such little time. And it makes me really happy to know he wasn't being a terror he was just expressing his nervousness in the only way he knew how.

Yes, I have several & yes, I use them in training (not all at once of course!) I also use my voice in training so I have emergency back up or if I'm feeling a little too lazy to go get a clicker but I'm in the mood to train. :D :amazon:
