Do not make a noise or movement to show it does not work. This almost always works, but there are individuals! (Sadly, most of the birds i've met were those individuals) I heard that for them you could do the one two three steps of "discipline"

Do not make a noise or movement the first time. The second time, stare it down and say in a firm voice "Be gentle". The third time, give it a time out for like ten minutes.

Many people have said around the internet and books that this could work well (it has for the hundreds of people i've read about)

Don't punish the parrot. Giving it looks or saying things doesn't work and if anything just encourages biting.

Read this for more reasons why not to punish and suggestions of things that actually work:

When my budgie bites, I instantly grab her upper beak in my thumb and index finger and hold it tight for a few seconds before letting it go. She quickly stops nipping as my finger is like a trap and once her beak hits me, it gets stuck.

It depends. Is it a nibble or a clamp down bite. Nibbles could mean preening or tasting. Clamp down bites are different. I do not respond except to say no softly and touch the beak. If this doesn't work - use your other hand to cover it. If it can't see it will let go.

Whatever you do - don't freak out.
