my parakeet kiwi knows how to step up, but is scared of my hand and taking food from it. is there a simple way to hand+ :budgie: = :thumbsup:

see whats his favourite food .usualy all budgies like millets spray so u can use these as treats .put the food in your hand and w8 for him to come and eat . if didnt there is a got trick you could do which to take the food out of his cage for 3 hours or somthing so he would be hungry and would come to eat from your hand , good luck :)

:amazon2: Myrtle only steps up when she calls me to get her. Other times she runs from my hands. I can get her and she won't bite but she does make a lot of complaints. Some times when I just go to talk to her she is affraid I will grab her (she was a rescue). So I put my hands behind my back and she will come and talk nose to beak with me.

She will not take anything from my hand even if she wants it. She wants me to put it down so she can investigate it. Even with something like a peanut.
