What happened? MY budgie is biting now! OW!

Postby Skip » Sat Aug 27, 2011 4:42 pm

My budgie is biting me now. When i go put my finger in his cage for him to step up he either drops down off his perch to the floor and starts to sceam or pecks/bites! That was happening since i was going to school! He is the only bird so he has no company. I tried the taming/training process on the trainedparrot blog but it did not work! Can someone please tell me how i can tame him again? That would mean A LOT!

Just continue with the training stuffs :D
I think your bird just may be grumpy because you left it alone for so long, i've heard some people have that problem before. Hormones can also be a cause, but i am not sure when the budgie breeding season is or whether it breeds all year long. For both of these things, there is no special method other than just keep trying.

There still could be other problems, so keep updating.

my cockatiel started to show some aggression againt my hand when i tryed to make him step up from high places that he flies to so made him step up and give him a treat each time he steps up and also when i bites i let him bite and when he stops i give him a treat too . this worked but he still refuse to step up when flies to high place and rarely bites
