harness training snag

I've been working on getting Conrad to wear a harness, but I've hit a wall. I have him to the point where I can slip the collar on, without him showing any signs of discomfort. He'll be just fine while I'm putting the harness on, but the instant he realizes it's on him, he'll panic, flop around, chew on it, and simply will not be consoled no matter what I do. Did I miss a step? What did I do wrong?

I hope someone gives you an answer as I'd love to harness train Disney. I am afraid though because Disney likes to be touched on his own terms and is a bit bossy. I don't think he'd even let me get it over his head.

I would really look into michaels guide for this, while I havent followed it right off, it has been a
tremendous help and we've gotten to the point with Stitch where he puts his head thru the opening in the harness, as soon as I show it to him. We have also put both wings thru their straps without any issues, so all thats left now is to tighten it.

Watch michaels vid, read thru the guide, and apply to your parrot as appropriate!

well some ppl have said the birds are jst not used to wearing such a thing and the tightness may frighten them or just make them uncomfortable....mayb the distraction of being outside might help. iv heard ppl who had issues and just took the bird straight out the bird would be so over whelmed about being out he will forget.
good luck and i hope it works out....dont give up
