How do I tame them both?!?!?!

Postby Skip » Fri Sep 30, 2011 4:41 pm

Today I have gotten another budgie. But my first isn't tame. Neither is my second one. My mom is forcing me to put them in the same cage. How do I tame them both. With out a second cage.

They are both on my bed playing. When my first one is the cage he wants to act like a brat and bite. Not so sure about the second. I can only get my finger so to her. How do I tame them both.

Thank you :)

Oh ya, the second one is a she. Chloe!!!!

Talk to them and play with them. Give them tiny treats and you will become the "treat giver".

You are all they have.

I would take it back to the store, you should have not gotten another bird if you cannot quarantine the second bird.

Honestly, I feel like you haven't really taken anyones advice. I also feel you're being a bit irresponsible and you're mom isn't being much different.

1. Like GlassOnion said, you didnt quarantine them
2. You haven't even learned how to properly take care of your first budgie
3. I believe you were wanting a Cockatiel and your mom wanted you to put them in the same cage, are you crazy?
4. You also keep changing your mind on what you want, it'd be best to just not make any decisions yet
5. Read the taming steps and follow them
6. And you lost your bird, which I don't see too much of an accident

You just don't seem to be listening in my opinion.
How about a hamster?

Sorry, I was being I little irresponsible. I lose my mind sometimes.

But losing my first bird was a total accident. My first bird was clipped so I about taking him outside. My friend came and he wanted to hold my budgie too. So I let him. He went too close to the bushy area near the lake and the budgie jumped off. I rescued him later.

I really wanted a hamster but my mom said she doesnt want them in her house. I totally agree.

After all that mess, I wanted to take extra care of my first bird. So I was taming him. But I had no choice but to get an another one.

Now it's twice the poop, twice the mess, twice the chirping, and twice of everything! Plus, Bullying. My first one bullies the Second one, even though it is a girl.

CRAZY

There was no quarentine. The first budgie did not have time to hear the second one at a distance. He is protecting his territory from an invader.

It sounds like you have become overwhelmed. When this happens you have to "shake down". Please consider returning the second one. You are not able to deal with it right now.

Well liz, both of them are getting along now and even preening each other. Plus I can't return it unless I switch it out with another budgie.

You ever hear the say of speech, "the end doesn't justify the means"? Just because it turned out well doesn't mean your process was commendable.
