Ok room is very big and I tried him at window and now in corner, the only thing i see that catches his attention is tv

He was nervous when I first get him and still is. I have had to catch him in sheet a few times to get him back in cage which I'm sure he hates

Ive had him a month now and the only thing better is sometimes when he has little food he will move for it but I don't want to starve him because he's young. I'm also concerned that his only noise is screaming in morning and a horrible crow noise when I catch him. He is so bad and upsetting in the morning I think hes only calmer at night because he's worn out

hi,i think he's gonna be better now.for new bird,i think window is quite scary cuz he will always see people come n go,another bird flying, car sound which it can make him nervous all the time.careful the tv sound not too loud because if i switch on tv too loud jojo will scream more n more to defeat the tv volume :D

yeah, ussually my bird make a sqwaking n screaming sound from 8-11am n start again from 3-6pm.i dont know why but now its not that much anymore, only sqwacking for attention.
mmm if he out of the cage does he take food from ur hand?if yes i think its not bad idea to let him out for few days, dont catch him but give him food with ur finger.n slowly put fruits inside ur hand n offer it to him,i did this n now he tolerate my whole hand near him.

trust me,u doing great,he just need more time.even untill now my jojo still shaking if i get too near him.dont forget to tell us the news abot stuey ok??good luck

I also notice that he has never landed on the floor ever or anything other than my curtains, with 12ft ceilings this is a problem so you can see why i have to chase him to catch him. Im going to leave the cage open for the next few evenings to see what his reaction is....im just really worried that he wont eat and die if i dont force him back in :(

Is it normal for him to be completely uninterested in toys, ive put rope swings, bells, chew toys, and a big swing with chew rope on and hes not interested in anything

He is really fearful. I got Myrtle at the end of March and she has only been landing on the floor for a month or so and only because pedestrian Rambo is on the floor.

Myrtle's favorite place is the curtains. I hung a dangling toy off the curtain rod. She loves to swing on it and beat it up while she is upside down.

Can you put his cage in a higher place. He may be going back to his cage at night when you are not looking.

Myrtle was scared of hands but like to talk to my face. Of course she is a totally different bird now.

hi,i dont know why bird really loveee curtain, :D
jojo always go on the top of curtain n my ceilling lamp(i saw him chewing the wire also) n i got really panic, seems its really impossible for him to not go there,i give up.i move him to my room n now i sleep in his room :( i change all the ceiling lamp with the new one that he cant climb.for curtain,i put something on the top of it that he cant stand on. i also buy him play gym n put food bowl there.
mmm i think if u can find another way to make him can not go there is better, cuz avoiding them to not go there dsnt give any answer,i tried many times.
its already 2 weeks my jojo dsnt play at all with his toy too,im also worried.but if i give him foraging toys,he play with it.maybe stuey will like it too. ;) give him white paper make it ball n fill it with treat, make hole so he can see the treat n hang it.(i fill mine with walnut, pistachio, small apple, pome, almond) it makes jojo busy for 30 min.
hope it help..

Well i move house in a week or so which will shake him up a little i suppose but there are no curtains just blinds so he wont be able to hang from them and poo everywhere

I might try the foraging trick and i think i could poke seeds he likes into the ropes of the swing etc....

He is as fussy as me with food, so far apple/millet/sunflower seed is all he is crazy for. He doesnt like coconut, pomegranite, mango, orange

hi,
that sounds great, soon u will get rid of the curtain problem
just watch out for the lamps, specially the hanging lamp.i think its better to choose lamp which he cant stand on it too,cuz instead of curtain he will go there.
mmm, maybe he will get bit shock for new house but he will be ok.it takes 2-3 days for my jojo also to get used to his new bedroom.
good luck!!

My poor Stuey  i came home today and felt confident that he was a bit less nervous after last night as he seemed as friendly as ever. I found Stuey standing on one leg which at first wasnt a concern but when i tried to target him a few steps from where he was he hobbled over only using one leg fully. His legring appears too tight which i was worried about a few days after i got him but he hasnt shown any signs of bother until the last few days when he was biting the ring now and again.

I took someones advice about them being blind in the dark, i thought this was rubbish but its very true. I crept up behind him and grabbed him quite comfortably. I took him in the bathroom and fished out his leg and prised the ring open, it looks very swollen and a bit sore for him. He is hovering it above his perch, hopefully he will be ok.....

What should be on that ring exactly? Perhaps its been upsetting him for a while and thats why he has been unresponsive. Because i never let him see me this time he is not angry or upset with me at all so at least thats a good sign
