Hi, I'm Kath, also quite new in here and I've never had a parrot before :)
I own a Lovebird, Ako and in the beginning he was acting the same way, only not for so long.
He was shaking and panicking in his cage everytime I came close to him - I was actually afraid that he may hurt himself by panicking so much.
I didn't know about this forum yet so I tell you what I came up with myself and it worked.
I decided I want him to get used to my voice so I was talking a lot to him, especialy his name but not comming near cage, only when changing food. After 3-4 days I was walking by a cage ignoring my parrot, like he wasn't there. When he stopped paying attention to me walking by I was giving him a short look.
And basicly this is it. I have him for 3 months and 1 week now and he's getting more tame every day.He even tries to say his name ;P
I reccomend you to read parrot training blog - helped me a lot too

Good luck

And remember to write if you had any progress, ok?

my guess if he poop everytime someone gets close is that he is scared and not angry. and its not from "oh shit, i was so scared i almost pooped my pants!" nah, birds have a natural reflex to poop when their getting ready to fly, so i think the pooping is actually him getting ready to fly to be able to get away from you. But as kath ses talk to him alot, some birds respond wery good to singing as well. just "push" yourself closer and closer every now and then talking/singing whatever you and your bird prefers to keep him conftible, if you see him starting to stress out, and i mean before he is panicking, just stand still and continue talking until he is calm again. as soon as he is calm just move back a couple of steps. give him some time to relax and feel content with the distance you just created. enter his space again maybe he will allow you an inch closer this time before he start to look paranoid, get him content and back off. if you repeat doing that he should be cool with you getting up to the cage pretty quick.
But if he actually walks upto the bars when you come with a treat, i would actually recomend playing with him, probably by targettraining him, giving him the reward every time he touches the stick. this should make him associate you and the targetstick to fun n games and lots of treats.

Yes, I agree with Polarn :) Try to play with your parrot if it takes treats from you.
And don't worry about your English - it isn't my native language as well so if I can understand you then I think most of people here will

I'm afraid I cannot help you with this one. I guess your parrot just got angry with you ;)
With Ako it was like this: in the beginning he was screaming like crazy, I had a feeling that my ears will explode from the inside, and I had to cover whole cage for the night because he was screaming as soon as he woke up (which is earlier than me when I have a day off). But it seems like it was passing along with being him more tame (sorry don't know how to write this sentence properly - hope you got the point). Now I can sleep as long as I want and he's quiet. Gets loud only for like an hour everyday around 5 p.m. - don't know why.

Oh, I just remembered something that might help :D
Since you wrote your bird has a separate room maybe it feels lonely or bored. As far as I know parrots dont like being alone in quiet place. Try to give him some toys in cage. My Ako likes a piece of hard paper (clean one of course) folded into half and I also gave him a small toy rocket. He seems to enjoy playing it.

If this won't help we can try to figure out something different, just give it a couple days to check how is your parrot doing :)

Best regards,
Kath and Ako ;)

i think jojo(my parrot) got emotional problem.
seriously im very confused, which one is better:ignore him when he scream(which he gonna be very mad n bad mood) or respond it?if i respond it n stay with him sometime he puff his fur like saying 'im scared'.
jojo scream from 8am-11am n 2pm-5pm n its loud.
yeah i think u right,i will give him more toys.maybe he bored.
Ako seems really a nice parrot :D
thx kath for the good advice!! :P
