hello,
thx for the reply its really helpful
yeah thats the reason im doubt to let him out again.last time caught him n put him in the cage he was reallllyyy angry n dsnt stop screaming.i dont know what i have to do now.if i let him out he will not come back to cage n i need to catch him which he will kill me for the next day.but beside that its not good to lock him inside cage always.is it any other way to make parrot come back to cage without catching them???if the answer its target training,i tried many times,he dsnt interest at all with it when he is out of cage.(even i bribe him with his fav nuts)
sorry its silly question but it does make me stress this few days.
oh ya do still cath ako to make him come back to cage untill now??

I have this problem as well, id prefer Stuey to be out more but he never goes back and hates it when i catch him

He also likes the vacuum or at least likes to look at it moving around below him. I find that things like that which "have" to be done like changing food etc... at first have upset him but so be it, you cannot do without doing those things so he will have to get used to it. Eventually he may realise the vacuum doesnt come near him so its no problem?

I think maybe they feel safer targetting behind protective bars. Stuey won't take a treat unless he's in cage but late last night he let me enter top of cage right above him and feed him. Maybe also they are nervous out of cage and them they wont eat

Perhaps take my route with stuey and get him used to your hands inside with cage, he will know that he cant escape you but still you don't hurt him

Yeah, I agree. Inside the cage is his safe place - home. Ako doesn't really like me to put my hands inside the cage so I'm trying not to if I don't have to.
And nikii, about putting Ako to his cage - I don't have a problem with that anymore. I take him on my hand (but my hand is covered with a sleeve because otherwise he cannot keep balance - slipping away  And I go to a cage door with him and say "go to cage now, Ako" and I put a treat inside. Sometimes he's messing with me and jumping on my arm, and when I put my arm close to the door he jumps on my other arm but he goes to his cage after few jumps ;p He's not escaping to the other side of the room anymore when I want him in cage :)

Try this: make him reaaaaly hungry. Close the cage door for couple of hrs and then open and put treats inside (so he can see what u doing) and stay like 2 meters away and you can say something like: "There's a trat for you inside" or what I say to Ako. And when he goes inside you close the door. But don't run! Do it calmly otherwise you scare him. Maybe it will work. Anyway, You won't hurt him this way, right? ;)

Ok, talk to you soon, have to go now quickly.

See You

Niki does he get hungry and want to go back for food ever? Tonight my Stuey hadnt eaten much all day when he came out and within a few hours he was back ontop of cage and i lured him back in with a treat. First time ive ever had to not catch him!
