Bath: jojo must get used to a new thing which is a bowl with water, after he gets used to it he should take a bath 2-3 times a week.
Scratching: Birds feel itchy when they change feathers and the new ones are growing.
Bugs: I don't know about them but try to watch him for next 2-3 days, maybe he'll stop scratching. You can always try to take a closer look on him when he's near you - give him a treat or something. All I know is that vet is the last option, when you totally don't know what to do - at least in my country. Here vets don't realy know about exotic birds so they're not a big help here actually. But I'm nit saying in your country is same as in mine ;P
Anyways, remember that visit at vet's isn't a nice experience for any animal I suppose, especially for a bird. You can always go without your bird, tell the vet what your concern is and maybe he could help without bringing your pet to him :)

Take care now and relax - remember: animals are much tougher than we think they are

It can take even a couple of days to get used to water in a bowl so be patient.
Well, people here talk from experience mostly, not from books like vets :)

Take care

Hi everybody,

my birds seem to molt more than normal at the moment. I think here with us it could be the heating period, that causes it. I always try to keep the humity at a level of 60 %. In summer when my birds are outside during daytime, I dont have this problem. However, it is not that bad that I would worry.

Hi

yes, first we have our aviary, apart from the front tiled. So when I spray or Mist the birds, I give the tiles a spray as well, lol. than we have a humidifier, running in Winter during the heating period. that makes it easy. Works fine, but still the birds loose more feathers in the winter months than normal.
The humidifier does a good job. We have to ventilate and open the windows often so.

Thats how we keep the 60 %, somethimes more.
