New parrot training HELPPPPPP!

Postby KittGCC » Tue Dec 20, 2011 12:21 pm

Hi guys my new adopted conure is settling in well , beginning to bite less and less and completely follows target stick ....although he it's ever hungry enough to be temped by treats for longer than 5 mins , he loves apple the most!
How can I schedule feeding to make him hungry during training session without starving her lol !

Cheers Kitt

Measure how much food you give your bird. Figure out how much it eats at one sitting. Once you establish that, diminish the ration just a bit so that the bird is not starving but not satisfied either. Though I am new to this board, I have been training animals for over 30 years. TIme your feedings. And adjust your schedule of feeding and training until you get the degree cooperation that you desire.
