Hello. I have a Alexandrine and a Grey parrot. Both bought when they were babies and both are my very trusty friends :D. This trust came after long time, when i actually showed them care and patience. Somehow it just related to everything i was teaching them and then they began trusting me and loving me. So keep it simple, give them time and let them sit on your shoulder so they know you are their friend.

To clarify more is that you don't make a parrot trust you, you have to gain the trust of your parrot.

You must treat them with respect. Their cage is their room. Don't grab them out of their room. Open the door and let them come to you.

Sharing food with them while you eat also helps. Talking to them when you walk past. It is like a child that you let believe it was their idea instead of making them do something. They are very intelligent little bird brains.
