Flight Harness Training Parrot

Don't take anything for granted. It's not scared cause it's just a floppy piece of cord. However, after having it put on, that changes completely. So my advice is to do the training method no matter what rather than force it on thinking its ok while creating a dilemma.

It's not just about the slowness though... it's about making it worthwhile for the parrot. Fact is, the harness is completely unnatural, unpleasant, and pointless to them. Going outside may not be enough of a benefit to justify wearing it to them. Heck they may be scared outside so even that is a bad thing. This is why there has to be lots and lots of treats surrounding the harness and at least some degree of feeling that they can choose to wear the harness or not.

It's great you're using a harness. We have a nice garden, and we wanted to be able to take Tiki out with us and show her the pretty flowers. So, we bought a harness, too, and we would re-introduce it to her, and put it on her, so she could become comfortable with it. She would bite the harness as it was on her, but the shop owners helped us by putting it on her, too.

That's cute about the cashews. :) Hopefully your bird will realize, "Hey! This thing she wants to put on me means I get to go outside and get those tasty nuts!" :) Keep us updated on your progress with your bird.
