Senegal Parrot "scratching" sound?

Postby GreenWing » Tue May 08, 2012 9:46 pm

Hi Everyone,

I'm the new owner of a Senegal Parrot named Tiki. Tiki is making a sound with her beak as she is in her cage... I can best describe it as a clicking-scratching sound. My husband and I were saying "Hi" to her to encourage her to talk, and she kept making this sound.

Can an experienced bird owner inform a newbie what this means? :hatching:

Beak grindings normal in parrots. Mine usually do it alot when settling down for the night. Some say it is a sign of contentment so don't worry :)
