Well, I don't know if it can help you guys, but My Anastacia (a yellow collared macaw) was doing the same...

Sometimes she leaves the cage and bite me several times with the pupils very dilated, opening and closing the wings. I just don't know why she started with this behaviour last week, but as Michael said, I'm trying to ignore that...

When she starts to taking chunks of skin off, I get her (and I don't know how to act different because she hates when i get her by her back) and put she in her cage for 2 or 3 minutes, turning back. But never beeing rude, or yelling with her, just saying seriously and calm...

Almost all the times i did this, she back to my hand without nips... My problem is that she is eating formula and didnt learn to eat solid foods, so I have to wait to start the train with clicker and target one ;/
