Step up should not be about nipping

Postby sophiajp123 » Tue Jul 31, 2012 6:52 pm

Hi I have a blue Parrotlet and he is still young. I am trying to teach him to step up. When I put my finger near him or any other type of hand platform he nips and bites my. He does it pretty hard too. He really only likes to sit on my shoulder. I really want help! Thanks

I took my little guy into the bathroom with the door and toilet lid closed.
I worked with him in there and he caught on very quick.
I think if you're trying in a big room or if there are other interruptions, it distracts them.
