Fine! No more training for today...

Postby Payton Leeroy » Tue Oct 09, 2012 10:53 am

Little Dragon was not impressed with the little training session I decided to do before his breakfast. The first couple touches of the sticks were good, with the instant reward of millet, then he suddenly decided my hand holding the millet was FAR too close, so he bit my finger! Instantly turned my back on him and took the millet and all away, but dang, this is the hardest bite he's ever done! Course, this is also our first day for meals, so he's probably hungry and upset because he's not used to meal times...

Hopefully he'll learn from this and not decide to attack me during training time again! Now it's time to see how he likes the veggie/seed mix he's getting for breakfast. My guess is he's not gunna eat much if any, but the seeds might just draw him in enough so he can get a taste. Making three different bird breads to start trying with him later today, so wish me luck!

Aw little dragon will get used to things, just don't overwhelm him with too many changes in one go. One thing at a time is usually best so you can monitor how well he is coping and pinpoint anything that might be stressing him out. So if your changing to meals today, leave it a few days before introducing new food, new training regime or an earlier bedtime etc for example.

Hm, probably a good point. I've just been trying to squeeze in new foods here and there for a while and got super excited after picking up the rest of the stuff I wanted for the bread!

On the bright side, the stuff he decides he doesn't want can go to be rodent food, cause they never turn their noses up at tasty things!
