Clicker training..

Good afternoon all,

I'm a proud new first time owner of a rainbow lorikeet called Peanuts. I am planning to train him/her (a gift from a friend who is unsure if Peanuts is a boy or a girl) and am thinking of using a clicker...

I know I need to do more research but I'm under the impression that I'd get Peanuts to step up onto a stick or something like, click the clicker then give him a treat... I'm just wondering if I'm on the right track?

he is reasonably tame, likes neck scratches and cuddling up on my shoulder so I don't think I'll have too much of a problem, but any advice on training my lorri would be muchly muchly appreciated.

I also adopted a rainbow lorikeet a few days ago but I'm still in the taming process.

Your doing the right the its thats simple I've trick trained my other birds but I don't use a clicker because it gets in the way especially with some tricks so it is easier so even without a clicker just get them to do something and reward them
I've trained a galah, long billed corella and also a lorikeet
