how long do you have her out? she needs more toys alot of different foraging, noisy, things to make her cage a fun place to go. only feed her in the cage until you can build your bond and work on training. she is not trying to dominate you by landing on your head or shoulder she only wants to be with you. i get why you don't want her on your head but i'm curious about not wanting her on your shoulder? my :gcc: sits on mine all the time but my :corella: is not allowed because she is to unpredictable and could take a nice chunk out of my face where if my :gcc: decides to get a little nippy not much harm done.so i trained my :corella: to land on my arm instead with her favorite treats.i also have different perches around flight areas for them to land on. please don't grab your bird it's not good and could lead to behavior problems.

oh ok i got you now ;) to get her back in at night make your feeding schedule so she's hungry when it's time to go back and put her favorite treat in or just make that dinner time.potty trainind is pretty simple with a small flighted bird. first to avoid the poops on your clothes i had some baby swaddles from my son that i would wear when my :gcc: was out, not 100% coverage but it helps some.when he pooped on me i would just give him a light push to get him to fly off.like your :swaying: my shoulder is his favorite place so it did not take him long to figure out his"mommy" doesn't like to be pooped on and he flies off to poop now he even has a small weaved basket with a handle and a plastic tupperware on the bottom for easy cleaning that he goes in. my opinion on the step up is a little different than most they do step up but when they come out of their cages i don't do step up i let them come out on their own. their cages are their own safe place that i don't ever invade unless i'm cleaning them or switching out food dishes. it's all about what you feel works best for you.

you do want her to be able to entertain herself as well as meeting other people and being handled by them. it doesn't say whether it's just you or you have a family with children as well. if somthing should happen to you or you add new members to your home she should be able to adjust to a new family if the worst happens or comfortable with sharing you with new people who come into your life.this is a major problem i'm having with my mya :corella: friends and family won't go near her they are afraid of her.because of that she is afraid and jealous when they visit. my penny :gcc: he will go to anyone and give them kisses and say "i love you" so i don't have any worries about him.you might try making her fly around give her places to land on that are fun with toys or just give her the gentle push off and call her back to wear her out so she'll want a break from you and return to her cage.micheal also has some trick training videos on here to exercise her brain and body.

Dounds like you have a sweet little lovie.
I just have a coupel regards on the cage (I know you said you had added more toys etc) but... you should also look over the perches them plastic ones in the picture (atleast looks like plastic ones) belongs on the clothhangers, even if their wooden dowels it doesnt really matter couse their all smooth. You want to find something that is uneven and textured ( preferebly something simple as natural branches).

Also the Cage size, I know my regards on acceptable cagesizes etcetera is quite different from the majority on here but that is because i live where the cagesizes are regulated and well lets face it noone wants the bare minium. And over here a cage that size isnt really a bird cage, or well could be used as a transport cage. Anyways youve got a small bird wich means a fairly big cage for this small bird still doesnt steal too much of space. while a fairly big cage for a macaw would steal an average bedroom worth of space, a decent cage for a little lovie would prolly steel the space ontop of a furniture. if your familliar with metric systems I wouldnt really go shorter than 45cm on any side and I would probably go somehting like 60-80cm x 45cm for the bottom surface, and then some hight too but the hight doesnt really ned to be all that great. Anyways I wont rant about it. like the little lovie and she seems loving.

Oh one more thing birs being up high (perching on curtains/your head whatever is a natural thing, nothing todo with dominance. The feel safer the higher up they are. Birds arnt really dominating creatures in that sense.
