CaitlinRice413 wrote:Wasn't it only yesterday that you posted asking for advice on taming your lovebird? Taming any species of parrot takes time and persistence, as well as patience. Perhaps your difficulty is not the species of parrot, but lack of dedication to the taming process and also where you are getting the birds from. I only say this because I care a lot about providing a good environment to pets. It isn't fair to them to re home them when the taming process gets boring and then replace them with another pet and repeating the process. If you don't have experience taming a parrot, I understand that it can be confusing and difficult. My suggestion is that you can look on craigslist for a bird who is already tame, interact with it before you make the decision and make sure it is a commitment that is condusive to both you and the bird. :greycockatiel: A cockatiel might be a good fit, lots of people have them and they can be quite tame if someone has spent the time with them. They can also learn to whistle funny tunes, which also makes them popular. It would be wise for you to become familiar with a smaller, tamer parrot before bringing home anything with serious beak power or dealing with another bird who is not yet comfortable being handled by people. I hope this helps you make a decision you are happy with. I don't mean to sound rude with any of that, I only want the best for people and their pets ad sometimes we all make mistakes so no worries and good luck!

Well, i can say right now that no type of bird is "easy" to take care of. whether it is a budgie or a macaw, you need to put in as much effort as you can.
may I ask why you gave your lovies to your uncle? it sounds like you got bored of them and tossed them out, and now are looking for a new bird that can provide you with a couple months of amusement before you get bored of training/taming/caring.
why don't you get a hamster? they provide a lot of fun, but don't live as long as parrots and don't need as much "maintenance" as a bird.

please seriously consider getting another bird(s) because it isn't fair to just give them up because you don't want to keep up the commitment of caring for one. (or two)
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

I really can't tell from your post how you feel. you say you were bored of them? They flew away and you want replacements? which one?

Please help me understand so we can end any further confusion!
