I've had my lovebird tuco for about a year now and he loves to hangout with me and climb all over me but if I get my hands near him he tries to attack my fingers and chase them around, he wasn't always like that though I use to beable to have him step up but one day he turned on them, will he forever be this way? or is it fixable? If so how? I neeeeed help
Most likely it's because you use your hands to do things to him against his will. When he climbs around your body, it's at his own choosing whereas being grabbed or asked to step up by you is not what he wants. There are only two ways around this. Either you become slave to your parrot and wait as long as necessary until he feels like going on your hand or employing training to create a reason for him to want to be on your hands of his own choosing. By using training, you can make him eager to be on your hands in return for whatever he gets for it so then he'd have no reason to want to bite them.
