Clicker/s too loud

Postby janetafloat » Thu Dec 06, 2012 12:15 pm

I'm making good headway with my 'tiel...he'll step up, and as of last week let me touch & stroke his head and this week moving on to touching his body. I've started to work on target training but every time I click the clicker he jumps out of his skin. I've tried several and they all have the same effect. Any suggestions?

There is a clicker you can buy from a pet shop or online where you can adjust how loud or how quiet you want it

Thanks, that's good to know! My tiel is getting less jumpy as we go along, and I'm doing what Michael suggested and holding the clicker behind my back. Hopefully that won't be necessary for much longer as he gets more used to the sound. Next time I order something from Northern Parrots I might get that one, though, it looks good.
