Truman has had his for 2 or 3 years and it's good as new. If the harness holds up for a bird the size of a grey but with the beak of a macaw, I have a hard time picturing any other bird breaking the one that is sized for them.

I wouldnt worry that much about the nylon leech... but as I said unfortunitly Polarn managed to crack the plastic thingie that tightens it, never enough to break it apart... but I replaced it and that was 7 days of use... I just heard a clicking sound as I was driving... but luckily enough they arn't too expensive... I mean just one day of bringing him along on the shoulder is worth the cost of a new harness...

Plastic thingie? On an aviator harness? I've never seen anything plastic on one.

I could see it in the pictures where you put the harness on truman, anyways to clearify I will add a picture of it on here, with a harness that has broken in a different way... where the nylon strips has separated... but the clip thingiemagiggie you use to tighten the loops is the one Polarn managed to crack on his.

and as you can see on this one if you compare to a new one (or one that isnt broken) there is a nylon weld that ahs separated.

I guess Truman could break that too if he really really wanted to but we stay busy when we're outside so he never has. I don't think it's plastic though. I think it's some kind of light metal but I don't have it in front of me right now to look. You should complain to the manufacturer and get a replacement because it is supposed to withstand. Maybe they used plastic on an older version.

just scraped it a bit (on my new one) and thats metall... same store and only a week apart so my bet is that it must have been damaged before... I know their beaks are strong... but heck if he cracked that one.. its quite thick and metall... hmm weird.. anyways I got a replacement for free from the store I bought it for that one. the damage done to the one i posted the picture of though is probablt more common among chewers though than anything else, and thats not an issue really since it cant slip out while the harness is on anyways... but I think them few spots are the only ones they can ever break really...
