My boyfriend and I adopted a rehomed eclectus parrot about 6 months ago. I have my own parrot a sun conure who is 7 years old and a fantastic bird! Odie our new edition has made so much progress. When we first got him he wouldnt step up without biting. He was very aggressive and his past owner did not handle him correctly. When we picked him up she was trying to give him to us by throwing him off balance off of her shoulder. He has learned many tricks and is much more handle able. He steps up and even cuddles now. We can touch him on his back, beak, under his wings, etc. The only situation we are having is he can never be around the both of us without being nippy and displaying uncomfortable body language. Odie will particularly get nippy at me specifically. He will always flap and make motions that he wants to come to me, then he will bite. I usually force him to stay on my forearm, but my boyfriend carries him on his shoulder no problem. If he ever somehow climbs my shoulder he bites my ear immediately. Any suggestions on maybe what I should do?
