I could see that sunlight would have some input on colorchanges since they do in alot of birds, perhaps not as much changing colors as making them stronger. And as for windows, they dont let through to mcuh of the UvB rays as you would have wanted. I use artificial sunlight and even the old budgie I adopted seems to be brighter in her colors now than when she came here, might also be that she is less dusty due to regular baths etc. With Polarn who were only 6 months old when I got him it wass a harder case to judge weather it was due to the light or just him gaining the right colors, but when he came here he had wery little blue in his forehead, not he has a really bright blue color that definitly is visible. but i think that is more so him getting the right plumage. but the budgie fascinated me that she looks brighter, and that in effect makes her look so much happier and of less age, not that she is old as stone but she isnt a young bird still growing into the rigth plumage. Also humans are born with one eyecolor and develops their true eyecolor due to sunlight, i think if I havn't dreamt that I have read something somewhere:)

For the record, i work at a bird store & he came from a commercial breeder (blue ribbon in florida) so if anyone else has a blue ribbon sennie, maybe it could be the genetics they have in their gene pool. You'll know if you got it from a bird/pet store & the leg band begins with "BR FL"
Here are some pictures of my Vergil, you can see how dark his eyes are at 1 yr old:

My girlfriends senegal's eyes have changed from a dark dull grey to a bright silver in the past 6-8 months or so. They are taking on a slight yellow tinge but I don't know if they will change to full yellow or not yet. She got him when he was around 2 months so he's between 8-10 months currently.

Our Sennie is 18 years old and has a very golden yellow if not bordering on orange tone to his eyes. There's a darker shade of yellow lining his pupils. Don't have a very detailed photo of his eyes per se, but:
